Where Culture Finds Its Audience.

A creator-first TV and Film studio providing strategy, production, and global distribution across AVOD, FAST, and streaming.

OUR MISSION

To empower creators to retain ownership, scale their work, and maximize the long-term value of their film and television content—without compromising voice, culture, or control.

Built for Creators

NIA Media is built by creators and executives who understand both the creative process and the realities of distribution.

Founded by creator and executive Nick Barili, NIA is shaped by firsthand experience building, scaling, and protecting creator-led IP across both digital-first and traditional platforms. Nick’s career spans early YouTube innovation through Hard Knock TV, original programming launches at Apple Music, and award-winning series development for major networks and streamers.

NIA is led alongside Joe Rivadeneira, President & Co-Founder, a veteran distribution executive with deep expertise across AVOD, FAST, SVOD, broadcast, and cable—bringing the operational rigor required to translate creative trust into scalable, commercial execution.

Together, Nick and Joe bring more than five decades of combined experience—combining cultural fluency and distribution expertise to unlock the full earning potential of creator-owned rights.

Distribution Strategy, Production & Platform Delivery

As major studios and streamers pull back on original programming—limiting creator access to funding and distribution—NIA operates as an aggregator–studio hybrid, providing the strategy, infrastructure, and execution required to bring independent projects to market.

We design custom distribution approaches across domestic and international markets, aligned with each project’s goals—whether that means maximizing reach, revenue, or long-term ownership.

NIA manages the operational complexity of distribution, allowing creators to stay focused on the work.

LEADERSHIP WITH DEEP DISTRIBUTION EXPERIENCE

Nick Barili

For more than 25 years, Nick has served as a bridge between culture and media—first as a creator, then as a builder of platforms designed to amplify underrepresented voices.

Nick was an early pioneer on YouTube, launching Hard Knock TV, one of the platform’s earliest and most influential culture-driven media brands, now with over 100 million views. He later helped launch original programming for Apple Music—showrunning Pharrell’s OTHERtone and Drake’s OVO Sound—partnered with the GRAMMYs and the Academy on digital series, and created and hosted the award-winning MTV/Paramount+ series De La Calle.

Joe Rivadeneira

A seasoned distribution executive and dealmaker, Joe brings more than two decades of experience placing content across AVOD, FAST, SVOD, broadcast, and cable.

He offers deep expertise in packaging, windowing, and delivery, along with direct relationships with programmers and licensors across the ecosystem. His credits include American Idol and The X Factor (FOX), Girl Talk with Michelle Obama (CBS), Border Crossing (Spotify), Caraoke Showdown with Craig Robinson (Paramount), and The Messy History of American Food (Discovery+), among many others.
